What we are

It takes a remarkable depth of
effort to recognise effort;
beauty to find beauty;
pain to see pain;
genius to perceive genius;
humility to see humility.

It takes a profound breadth of
ugliness to find ugly;
shallow to meet shallow;
pettiness to behave pettily;
hatred to spread hate;
pride to see pride.

It takes an abundance of
anything to see it in others;
To have it within us
to find it in others;
To see in others
is to see in us.

We need to have it in self
to see it in others;
that malice, that violence,
that brilliance, that piety.
What we are is what we see
in ourselves, in others.

Peak

Calming my breath to bring focus
at each step in front of me.
Not on the peak, not on the person ahead of me.
Just the next step is where my focus would be.

I look up and my head swims,
fear creeps up inside.
No amount of preparation seems enough
when the goal is in sight.

Fear starts to swell,
growing and it expands.
Legs shiver, feet tremble,
thoughts arrive in my mind.

Skies

The skies are not afraid
when birds soar high.
When sun spreads yellow,
when clouds cry,
the sky remains mundane,
prosaic and dry.

Sky has never demurred
of the birds puttering around.
Never once complained
of the elements
spotting it’s vastness,
drawing patterns across.
Sky never screams in agony
when the thunder rips it apart,
It remains unambigious
letting the cloud do it’s part.

My beautiful mansion

I build mansion in the air.
Thoughts like the wind.
Swaying my hopes, the sands, the clouds,
Hoping for my weather patterns to take care
of the blueprints and wherewithal.

My incremental actions,
create gardens around the mansion.
Manicured gardens, natural landscape.
The winds spread the seeds,
in the fertile lands.
What grows, trees and weeds.

Am I a judgement?

Thought.
Judgement.
Thought, and judgement.
Thought or judgement?

Judgement, and thought.
Judgement or thought?
Judgement is thought?
Thought is judgement?

Thinking is judging?
Act of thought is an act of judgement?
I think therefore am I?
Am I because I think?

Wisdom

For some wisdom is
being able to navigate life,
ensuring everything’s fine.
Skirting through troubles,
safeguarding their hearts,
shielding their minds,
from intensity.
Having found the least troublesome,
most secure methods,
is wisdom for nice.

Is it street-smartness?
To go down one and never detour,
collecting the discarded parts
in adjoining gutters? Continue reading

Part-I, Cornerstone?

Trust, respect, loyalty, etc are commonly considered the cornerstone of relationships. Not just human relations but any kind of relation. Why?
Not only are these imposed upon people but are made to be strictly followed as well? Why? This has to thought about step by step. Starting with trust (It can similarly be extended for loyalty, respect, etc)

What is ‘trust’? Trust is believing that somebody will do something as per expectations. Those expectations could be from an individual or a group of people (which make up institutions like family, society, culture). Institutional expectations are usually called values. This means trust is adhering to certain expectations.

When does one break trust? When a person takes an action very different from a certain expectation(s), it is called as breaking trust.
Hence trust exists because expectations exist.

 Expectations (is the reason for the existence of) Trust

Now let us observe expectations.
Why does someone have expectations? Continue reading

Credere Meus-VI

  1. Health-
    • Increase in group-ism leads to a degradation of health. Group-ism could be the concept of family, groups based on some ideology etc. The solution isn’t to have a bigger family or an extended one but to form interconnected communes(not communities) where everyone is freely interacting with everyone else and individuals of all kinds are included. Only then is mental, emotional and physical health of all individuals maintained.
    • Exclusion of any kind, whether in experiences, thoughts (internal) or from certain people or groups (external), leads to decline in health. The more rigid our ideas are towards people, experiences, interactions etc, the more unhealthy we become.

un-knowing

when do I stop?
where do I end?

Give your best and leave the rest ?
on what ? Maybe time.

what is my best?
is my best enough?

where does this end?
when do I stop taking charge?
when do I let go?
how do I let go?
Maybe stop thinking.
how?
I ignore the question.

Being responsible is difficult enough,
Now to not be responsible
is arduous.

fear

Being a cripple is not about being physically disabled but about being afraid. One might be physically, mentally and emotionally able but will become a cripple if there is fear. Fear of any kind, for anything and from anything or anyone is the biggest disability. Fear of not being traditionally successful, fear of not being loved, fear of being hated, fear of not being included in the social circles, fear of insecure future, fear of not having money, fear of not marrying at the right age, will cripple a person. The person being harmed because of fear is himself/herself and no one else. Fear of not being oneself, fear of not being able to find about who one is, fear of not being ideal, fear of being rejected, fear of being scolded, fear of taking responsibility for actions of self, fear of leaving everything behind, fear of getting attached, fear of letting go of attachment, fear of anything makes one so immersed in fear that one forgets to live, see, feel , think, take action etc. One becomes inhuman because of fear.
Fearlessness is what distinguishes a human from an animal. Ability to be fearless is what makes a person, human. The first step towards becoming fearless is to have courage to overcome existing fears.

Am I afraid? Yes.
Hence, am I crippled? Yes.
Thus, am I becoming less human? Yes.

Are you afraid? …….
Hence, are you crippled? ….
Thus, are you becoming less human? ….
